More Than A Hazardous Material Abatement Contractor

At times ARC Abatement’s services go beyond the general scope of hazardous material abatement, we share our resources to help our neighbors.

ARC Abatement’s Houston Office took on a second project with the Westminster United Methodist Church in Houston, TX. During the first project with Westminster United Methodist Church, ARC performed asbestos abatement of the asbestos-containing ceiling tiles and duct insulation, as shown below.

ARC began the second project at Westminster United Methodist Church, an asbestos abatement of 6,700 square feet of asbestos-containing flooring mastic. It was during this second project that a Derecho made its way into Texas ravaging the Houston area with 100-mile-per-hour winds, causing significant damage and at least eight fatalities in its wake. In the aftermath of the Derecho, Westminster United Methodist Church lost power, along with most of the Houston area.

‘Millions lost power including the church disrupting the project including day school and activities at the church. Generators were scarce in the area, ARC supplied a generator sufficient to finish the project on time as well as powering portions of the school and church providing air conditioning to the church and classrooms for a few days until the power was restored.’

Even with these challenges, ARC was able to complete the project on time and under budget, while helping our client during a time in need. We are proud of our team’s quick thinking and hard work!
