While school, state, and local officials continue their investigation, ARC’s New Orleans hazardous materials removal team has begun a seven-figure clean-up project at the Rosenwald Elementary School campus. Our work includes asbestos abatement on ceilings and floor tiles/mastic as well as a specialized cleaning of the entire school. We will clean and/or dispose of the desks, chairs, equipment and all other materials in the building. We have a large crew on the project, which should be completed in three months. Officials want to know who is responsible for an air-borne asbestos release at the campus, where, fortunately, no students were present. Collegiate Academies had planned to open a new high school there for the 2018-2019 school year but had to move to a temporary location.
